Boat

Description:

This is a deep V hull offshore fishing boat with a cuddy cabin. The cuddy sleeps 2 adults and maybe a kid or two. I have a portable toilet down below that works great for the females. The boat includes a bimini top for the cockpit and has mounts for adding another bimini over the fishing area. A trailerable cover is included that covers the entire boat and motor. This boat was primarily used in Lake Pontchartrain and offshore in Venice with occasional trips to the Rigolets and Grand Isle/Fourchon. This boat can handle both shallow inshore areas and pretty extreme offshore conditions when captained correctly. The high sides (freeboard) are perfect for fishing with children and/or pets. Top speed is 38+ mph. Fishes 4 comfortably and 6 if they're willing to fish up front. This boat can be launched and retrieved by one person. The electronics include a VHS marine radio. All paperwork is legal and in order with no liens.

Boat

This boat is perfect for any task:

  • I have fished it 40 miles offshore in the Gulf in 4-6 foot seas bringing home snapper, amberjack, and shark.
  • I have fished the Rigolets at night after smaller boats have gone home bringing home reds, trout, and flounder.
  • I have pulled 16 - 25 foot shrimp nets bringing home shrimp, crabs, and plenty of different fish.
  • I have run my crab traps with it in the lake and limited out on blue crabs many times.
  • The previous owners used it for skiing, we have pulled towables.
  • We used it for cruising the Tchefuncte river and anchoring to party with friends on other boats. (toilet comes in handy here.)
  • We have even used it as a tow boat to help many stranded people get back to the dock. (Gotta love towing in that new expensive brokedown boat!)

Boat

The engine is a carbureted 2001 Johnson 150 HP. This engine is "bulletproof." It is an OceanPro which is specifically designed for the saltwater/marine environment. The original engine was a 1999 FICHT with many problems. It was the FICHT engine that led to the demise of Johnson portion of the Evinrude/Johnson brandname, not there carbureted engines. The previous owner was able to convince Johnson to put a new non-Ficht engine on it in 2001. This engine has been incredible. I have completed all the service myself, as I do not trust anyone else to do it right. The waterpump, spark plugs and lower unit oil has been changed regularly. I use ONLY premium Quicksilver 2-stroke oil. The VRO remote oiling system is intact and works flawlessly; no need to premix. S/S prop.

Standard amenities:

  • Self-bailing hull.
  • Large drink/fish box under passenger seat.
  • Large live well under driver seat with high speed pick up.
  • dual battery system with switch.
  • two rear storage compartments near transom.
  • tackle storage near driver.
  • large storage compartment on passenger side.
  • additional storage in cabin under cushions.
  • rear swim platform and ladder.
  • raw water washdown with hose.
  • two rear jump seats. (removable for fishing.)

Two things you cant' get anywhere else!!!

If you're not convinced yet....here's the best part of the deal!!!! I will extend the next owner free use of my knowledge of this boat and engine. I understand this boat from front to back and am willing to provide you with help in the future. Should you run into problems or need to install something, I will gladly do my best to assist you. If nothing else, I can give you an pretty good idea as to the issues you are having so that you don't get ripped off at the shop if you can't repair it yourself.

The second thing I'll throw in is some buddy boat trips. There's nothing more stressful that boating or fishing a new area that you are not familiar with. I have fished Lake Pontchartrain, the Rigolets, Grand Isle and Venice. While I am not a pro, I can certainly help out a person fishing these areas for the first time. Not to mention the security of having two boats go out together instead of just one.

Boat

So why am I selling this boat if it is so great?

Believe it or not....I bought the EXACT same style boat...the EXACT same brand....with the EXACT same engine!!! This is how much I love this boat. The only difference is that it is a little bigger. I now have a 2000 Seaswirl Striper 2600 with a carbed Johnson 250. My original plan was to move the 2100 to another location out-of-state to be used there. Then in July I was hit by a drunk driver while towing the new boat to Venice. The driver did not have insurance (and I hadn't added the new boat to my policy yet???), which leaves me to pay for the repairs out of pocket, hence the change in plans. We currently use the 2100 often and it is ready to go.
